Clear answers to the questions funeral directors ask before they start their trial. Still have a question? Email [email protected].
No. You can start Noorelia alongside your existing software and run new cases on Noorelia while old cases close out on your current system. Nothing gets migrated. You start fresh cases in Noorelia and see the results yourself.
Most directors are fully transitioned within 30 days. Some choose to run both systems in parallel for 60–90 days before making the switch. Either approach works — there's no deadline or migration requirement.
Most directors have their first case open within one hour of signing up. There's no implementation consultant, no onboarding call required, and no configuration wizard to complete. Create an account, enter a case, and the platform guides you from there.
If you want a walkthrough, we offer demo calls on request — but most directors prefer to explore on their own and reach out when they have specific questions.
Correct. The 14-day trial is fully free with no payment information required. At the end of the trial, you'll be invited to subscribe. If you choose not to, your account moves to read-only mode for 30 days so you can export anything you need, then it's deleted.
We made this decision deliberately. Most funeral software requires a sales call before you can even see a price, let alone try the product. We think that's backwards. Try it first. Decide later.
Yes. Noorelia supports multiple staff roles: Director, Staff, and Read-Only. You can invite as many team members as you need — there are no per-seat or per-user fees. Everyone on your team accesses the same plan at no additional cost.
You land on your empty dashboard with a welcome modal previewing the four highest-priority setup steps: funeral home details, branding (logo + colors), FTC price lists, and inviting your team. You can do them in any order or skip and come back.
An 11-step checklist sits visible on your dashboard tracking your progress. Each step marks itself complete automatically as you do the work — no manual ticking. You can minimise or dismiss the checklist anytime.
The first time you create a real case, the dashboard switches focus from setup to operations — your case becomes the centre of gravity. Most directors are running their first case end-to-end within one hour of signing up.
Noorelia includes built-in, step-by-step workflows for 35+ religious and cultural communities including:
Islamic / Muslim (Ghusl, Kafan, Janazah, swift burial) · Jewish (Tahara, Shmirah, Shiva workflow) · Hindu / Antyesti (priest coordination, cremation rites) · Roman Catholic (Vigil, Funeral Mass, Committal) · African-American (Homegoing, gospel, repast) · Hispanic / Latino (Vigil, rosary, novena) · Buddhist (altar, chanting, monk coordination) · Sikh (Antam Sanskar, Gurbani) · Greek Orthodox (Trisagion, icons, 40-day memorial) · Filipino (extended novena wake) · Chinese / Taoist (ancestor veneration) · Native American (tribe-specific, sacred items) · and 23 more.
Each tradition includes the correct sequence of steps, culturally-sensitive director guidance, and vetted reference links. No configuration required.
When a family member opens their portal link, Noorelia automatically detects the language of their browser and renders the entire portal in that language — milestones, documents, messages, memory wall, and FAQ section. The director doesn't set it up or configure anything.
Supported languages: English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), French, Portuguese, Russian, German, Italian, Hindi, Tagalog/Filipino, Vietnamese, Korean, Polish, and Hebrew. Arabic and Hebrew render in native right-to-left layout.
Family members can also manually switch languages using the language picker in the portal, and their preference is saved for future visits.
No — the AI never sends messages on its own. This is an important distinction.
When you mark a milestone as complete, Noorelia drafts a family update message using AI. That draft appears in your dashboard for review. You read it, edit it if needed, and then click Send. Nothing reaches the family until you explicitly approve it.
The same applies to aftercare messages. You can preview and edit every scheduled aftercare email before it goes out. If you prefer not to use AI drafting at all, the manual send option is always available.
When a case is marked complete, Noorelia can automatically schedule 12 months of follow-up messages to the family — check-ins at 7 days, 30 days, 6 months, and the one-year anniversary.
Each message is drafted by AI and queued for your review in the director dashboard. You can preview the message, edit it, approve it for sending, or delete it entirely. Nothing sends without your review. You can also set the schedule manually or turn aftercare off for specific cases.
Aftercare keeps your home top of mind and builds the long-term family relationship that generates referrals.
Yes. You can upload any document and send it to the family for electronic signature through their portal. Family members sign with a drawn signature on any device — desktop, tablet, or phone. The signed document includes a full audit trail: legal name, signature image, IP address, browser, timestamp, and location data.
Noorelia's e-signatures are legally binding under E-SIGN (U.S.), eIDAS (EU), and equivalent international laws. However, you remain responsible for determining whether e-signatures are appropriate for specific document types in your jurisdiction — some funeral documents require wet signatures in certain states.
Every case can have a lasting online memorial page accessible to friends and family worldwide. The memorial page includes the obituary, a photo gallery (from memories shared by the family), service details, and a guestbook for condolences.
The director enables the memorial page with one click from the case dashboard. You can set it to public (indexed by search engines, shareable on social media), link-only (accessible but not indexed), or password-protected (requires a password to view).
When shared on WhatsApp, iMessage, or social media, the link shows a proper preview card with the person's name and a branded image — not a generic Noorelia placeholder.
Yes. Noorelia includes built-in tools to generate FTC-compliant price lists required by 16 CFR §453 for any US funeral home:
General Price List (GPL) — all 16 FTC-required items with the mandatory disclosures, statement of declination, alternative-container language, and embalming disclosures pre-written. Casket Price List (CPL) per §453.2(b)(2). Outer Burial Container Price List (OBCPL) per §453.2(b)(3).
You enter your prices, click publish, and Noorelia generates compliant PDFs you can hand to families in person, email after the at-need call, or attach to your statement of funeral goods and services. Each list maintains version history so you can prove what pricing was in effect on any given date — important if you're ever asked about compliance during an FTC sweep.
Funeral Rule violations carry penalties of up to $53,088 per violation as of 2026. Most software in this category either skips this entirely or charges extra. With Noorelia it's included in the $250/month flat fee.
Yes. Add as many branch locations as you operate from Settings → Locations. Each location can have its own address, phone, manager, and identifier on case records. Staff can be assigned to specific locations or to all locations.
Most platforms in this category charge per location ($75-$200/month each). Noorelia's $250 covers your whole operation regardless of how many locations.
Yes. The director dashboard, family portal, and all email links are fully responsive — they work on iPhone, iPad, Android phones, and tablets. There's also a Progressive Web App (PWA) — open the site in Chrome or Safari on your phone, tap "Add to Home Screen", and Noorelia installs as an app icon with offline support for cases you've recently opened.
No separate native app is required. We've found this is what directors actually need — full functionality on the device they have, not a stripped-down "mobile experience".
Yes. Pre-need cases live alongside at-need cases in the dashboard with their own list view. Each pre-need case can track: contract value, trust provider (Homesteaders, NGL, etc.), contract number, contract date, and a complete trust ledger with deposits, withdrawals, interest, and fees over time.
When a pre-need converts to at-need, the contract details and trust balance carry over to the new case — no manual transfer. You'll see at a glance how funded each pre-need is (percentage and remaining balance).
Suitable for both insurance-funded and trust-funded pre-need arrangements. Tax 1099 reporting is on the roadmap — for now, export the trust ledger to CSV for your accountant.
Noorelia is a single flat-rate monthly subscription. The price is published on the pricing page — no sales call required to see it.
The subscription includes unlimited cases, unlimited staff users, all features, and all 35+ tradition workflows. There are no per-user fees, no add-ons, and no feature tiers. Every funeral home gets the full Noorelia platform.
We made a deliberate decision to price for independent funeral homes, not multi-location enterprise operators. Passare and Gather are excellent products, but their pricing reflects their target customer — larger operations that can absorb $200–$600+/month.
We also don't have a large U.S. sales force adding cost to every subscription. No commissioned salespeople. No enterprise account managers. Just software at a price that makes sense for a director running their own home.
Yes. Cancel from the Settings page at any time, with no cancellation fees, no notice period, and no penalty. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account moves to read-only mode for 30 days so you can export your data. After 30 days, the account and all data are permanently deleted.
Changed your mind before the period ends? Click Resume subscription in Settings to undo the cancellation instantly — your subscription continues as if nothing happened. After the end-of-period date passes and you've already moved to read-only mode, you can still come back within the 30-day window — email us to reactivate, and all your data is restored intact.
All case data, documents, family information, and account records are stored in Supabase infrastructure located in Frankfurt, Germany — inside the European Union. This applies to all customers, regardless of where their funeral home is located.
EU data storage means Noorelia is GDPR-compliant from day one. For funeral homes in the UK, EU, UAE, or serving international families, this provides a clear compliance baseline. For U.S. funeral homes, it provides a higher standard of data protection than most U.S.-hosted alternatives.
The family portal is protected by a unique random token — a long, unguessable string — that is specific to each case. Only someone with the exact portal link can access the case. The portal URL is never guessable or enumerable.
For additional privacy, you can set the portal to password-protected, which requires the family to enter a password (set by the director) before viewing any case information.
All portal traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. Documents are encrypted at rest in EU storage.
No. Every AI-powered action in Noorelia is director-initiated and director-approved. The AI drafts messages and obituary text when you ask it to. Those drafts appear in your dashboard for review. Nothing is sent to a family without your explicit approval.
We use Anthropic's Claude for AI generation. Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted through the API. Your case data is not used to improve any AI model.
Yes. You can export your case data at any time from the Settings panel — as a CSV file for cases and contacts. Documents stored in Noorelia can be downloaded individually from each case.
After cancellation, you have a 30-day window to export everything before the account is permanently deleted. We will never hold your data hostage or make export difficult.
Yes. A standard DPA covering GDPR Article 28 requirements is available — it specifies that Noorelia is the data processor and your funeral home is the data controller, lists our subprocessors (Supabase, Cloudflare, Resend, Anthropic, Stripe, DocuSign), describes our security measures, sets a 72-hour breach notification window, and covers international transfers via Standard Contractual Clauses.
The template is available at /dpa-template.html. Print, sign, email a scan to [email protected], and we'll countersign and return within 5 business days. Particularly relevant if you serve UK or EU families.
Noorelia stores funeral arrangement data — names, contact information, deceased's information, service details. We do not store Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined under HIPAA. We never receive medical records, diagnoses, treatment information, or anything from healthcare providers.
Death certificate information processed in Noorelia typically comes from the family or the funeral director, not from a covered entity — so it generally falls outside HIPAA's scope. If your practice does receive PHI directly from hospitals (e.g. via EDRS integration), please email [email protected] and we'll discuss your specific workflow and whether a BAA is needed.
The Settings → Compliance section includes a BAA template for your records and for sharing with vendors who may handle related data.
We publish a real-time status page at stats.uptimerobot.com/l9I8wNhcMM showing uptime for the marketing site, director dashboard, family portal, memorial pages, and the worker backend. It also tracks our dependencies (Supabase, Resend API).
If the page is green and your dashboard isn't loading, check your local network or browser cache (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, Ctrl+F5 on Windows). If the page shows a recent incident, follow it there — we'll post updates as we work the issue.
Major outages are also announced via email to the address on your account. You can reach support directly at [email protected] — average response under 4 business hours.
Passare is a solid platform — we won't pretend otherwise. If all your families speak English and you don't serve faith traditions that require specific ceremonial workflows, Passare may serve you well.
Noorelia is built for something Passare doesn't do: serve multicultural, multilingual families with the dignity their tradition deserves. Passare is English-only. Noorelia's family portal speaks 15 languages automatically. Passare has no cultural tradition workflows. Noorelia has 35+.
You don't have to choose immediately. Run two or three cases through Noorelia alongside Passare. See how your multicultural families respond to the portal. If it's not better for them, don't switch.
If live streaming is your primary unmet need, Gather is genuinely excellent at it and we'd encourage you to look at them seriously.
Gather is English-only and has no cultural tradition workflows. If you serve families whose first language isn't English — or whose tradition requires specific religious steps — Gather can't help with that regardless of how good the live streaming is.
Noorelia and Gather solve different problems. Some directors use both: Gather for live streaming, Noorelia for case management and family communication with their diverse community.
Not yet. EDRS and government form automation is on our product roadmap but not currently available. Most directors who use Noorelia continue to submit death certificates through their existing state system or process — the two workflows don't conflict.
Noorelia handles the case management, family communication, document signing, and aftercare layer. The government compliance layer remains separate for now. We'll be transparent when that changes.
Not directly. Noorelia focuses on case management, family communication, and document workflow. For accounting, most directors use Noorelia's records to manually enter relevant data into QuickBooks or their existing system.
Accounting integration is a common request and is on our roadmap. We'll be honest about when it's available rather than overpromise.
Noorelia runs on enterprise infrastructure that serves millions of applications worldwide: Supabase (US company, Series B, backed by Kleiner Perkins), Cloudflare (NYSE: NET), and Netlify. Your data is stored in Frankfurt, Germany — a jurisdiction with some of the strictest data protection requirements in the world.
The 14-day free trial with no credit card removes the commitment risk entirely. Try the platform on real cases before making any decision. If we're not reliable, you'll know within the trial period at no cost.
Email support is available at [email protected]. We aim to respond to every message within one business day.
Demo calls are available on request — if you'd like a walkthrough before or during your trial, reach out and we'll schedule one.
Noor (Arabic: نور) means light — specifically, the light that endures after a life ends. Elia is the prophetic name shared across Christian (Elias), Jewish (Eliyahu), and Islamic (Ilyas) traditions.
Together, the name describes what we want this software to do: bring light that crosses every tradition. We serve directors and families from every faith and every culture — the name was chosen so it belongs to all of them.
Pronounced noor-EL-yah — three syllables, stress on the middle one.
The letters of NOORELIA spell out our eight commitments to directors and the families they serve:
